[...] Erik Austin Deerly’s latest entry into the world of electronica, new age, nu-jazz, and atmospheric music is mostly well-conceived and executed. The ten songs run about an hour long and do not include many vocals. The electronic inventiveness stems from an uncanny similarity to the earlier works of Robert Rich, Steve Roach, and Michael Stearns. The largely instrumental effort contains new age material with an ethnic and spacey edge that is rarely observed in music today. Aside from a few missteps related to frenzied vocalizations and arrangements on a few songs, Limbic is a highly-recommended work of musical achievement. Fans of atmospheric, electronic, instrumental, new age, ethnic, trance, nu-jazz, and world music should acquire Limbic. Your brain will thank you for it. —Matthew Forss, ReviewU [...]
